Good Thing There's a Spare 'Cuz I Think the First Born Is In Jeopardy

Brace yourselves for the frogs and boils, people. Billi is not letting God's people go, and she's taking us all down with her. The plague is currently afflicting her household, and no amount of lamb's blood on the threshold is going to stop it.

The Boy Child has pneumonia and is on some serious antibiotics. On the bright side, since laughing and running makes him cough, he gets to spend unlimited time playing "Lego Star Wars," so he's never been happier.

The Girl Child was up from 12:15 to 4:00 a.m. last night with a fever, coughing and throwing up. Billi took her to the doctor today. The strep test was negative, and the chest x-ray didn't show any pneumonia, so doctor thinks it's just viral. All she got was a strong cough medicine.

The Spare has thrush. So he's on antibiotics and some other medicine and a cream that Billi has to put in his cheeks four times a day. Oh, and his pacifiers must be boiled after every use.

Plus, Billi has a fever. I'm sure Brad will come down with the clap any minute now.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Within two minutes of receiving her email, I got one from another friend who currently has divorce lawyers circling her house, and from Heather, whose root canal got infected, just before she threw her back out.

What the hell is going on, people?

I'm afraid to leave my house.

If it's any consolation, things are going really well for me right now.

So there's that, at least.

OK, that's weird. I've never heard of thrush, before today, and now that's the second case I've heard of.

Hope they all get better soon!

We've got the Plague in CO, too. Kids going home left and right from daycare thanks to another gastroenteritis epidemic. Friends in Denver blogging about fevers and vomiting and allll kinds of fun.

Whoa. The Ides of March coming a day late (and taking everybody, not just Ceasar, down)?

The pediatrician said that it's common. Babies just get it. But I've never known anyone who's had thrush before either, Marty. Weird. Thankfully, he slept through the night though. And it's me who's on the antibiotics, not the baby. Yes, he's given me a lovely infection, hence the fever. PW is coming over today to entertain the children so I can get in a nap, so I'm sure she'll have some more amusing stories.

I've been on the couch for 2 weeks with a ruptured disk pressing, the goo from which is pressing on every damn nerve in my left leg. Don't leave home.....

I know a woman who went in for surgery Wednesday. Afterwards, her blood pressure plummeted to 60/30. She was in ICU for 2 days. She was transferred into a regular room and put on antibiotic IVs. She was allergic to the tape. The next IV came out. For the third round, she broke out in a rash all over her body. While in this condition, a neighbor called and asked where her thermostats were, while checking on her house. Her heater is running cnostantly and the house is up to 90 degrees. It could blow any minute now. On top of that, at the Subway a block from her house, an SUV ran through the Subway and killed two people. I am staying away from West Dundee. Or maybe I'll just lock myself in the house. This may be safer for awhile.

My birthday was last week. Right before, I sprained my left arm, twisted something in my lower back, and pulled a major rib muscle that affects my right shoulder and will take 6 weeks to heal. It can hurt just putting on a shirt. I was worried that I was getting older, but it's nice to know it's just the alignment of the stars or something like that.
